two friends, lili & linsey ….
met in 9th grade English class in Portland, OR
lili, a bookish tennis player biding her time to go off to college.
linsey, an outgoing soccer jock with a wide circle of friends.
took different paths after high school
lili went full throttle in international business, getting training from university of washington, beijing university, multnomah biblical seminary and imd in Switzerland--then wearing marketing, operations and consultant hats for nike, adidas, hp and ziba design and her own consultancy across north america, asia and europe.
linsey opted for a more "open" route of discovery, alternating between schooling and working intermittently, studying at southern oregon state and portland community college and working in the education and medical sectors. (She even managed to moonlight as a waitress!) linsey completed her business management degree from the university of phoenix, which was successfully put to use during her tenure at Intel.
reunited when they became moms

and set out on a quest to be moms first, entrepreneurs second
guavakids was born out of the idea of guavamitts, which started with a simple need to protect our babies from scratching themselves. discontent with picking mitts up off the floor and equally dissatisfied with the socks-on-hands option, we found ourselves on a quest to provide beautiful baby essentials that work.
